About Leslie Kelly BSc (Hons) LCHE RSHom MGHT

I was always fairly well as a child and if we were poorly it was a glass of warm milk before bed.  So taking painkillers wasn't something that really happened in our household.  At 17 I was diagnosed with severe asthma - I had an audible rattle in my chest!  It felt strange for me to suddenly be reliant on medication and to be in the situation where I always had to have it to hand.

As I grew older the inhalers became part of my day-to-day regime and I was never without them.  It didn't bother me that much but was always at the back of my mind as I much preferred to deal with coughs, colds, aches and pains without medication.

I stumbled on homeopathy about 15 years ago to treat migraines.  Not understanding the concept at that time I selected a remedy (Silica, I think it was) based purely on the description on a note card.  It did the trick for a while which was wonderful.  My asthma has since been treated successfully with homeopathy and now I am an avid runner!

Years later I got to the point in my life where I was restless in my work and was searching for something more fulfilling.  I met a girl in Thailand who was training to be a Naturopath and it intrigued me.  On my return to Blighty I investigated a bit more and, not finding any suitable taster courses, signed up to a beginner Homeopathy course instead.  I was hooked!

I qualified as a homeopath in 2014, graduating from the Centre for Homeopathic Education, with a First Class BSc degree underwritten by Middlesex University.

I am particularly passionate about treating children.  I believe that a healthy and happy child will be better equipped to handle life's little trials, allowing them to grow into amazing people who can achieve anything.  Children tend to respond very well to homeopathy as they have more energy and less layers of pathology and emotional baggage.  I am also interested in how hormonal change affects the human body, especially in menopause.

I have found that Reiki is a great complement to homeopathy.  Reiki is a wonderful therapy that can effectively reduce stress and encourage the body's own innate healing abilities.  An interesting article details how Reiki can help in treating depression.  My experience in using Reiki with clients has lead me to train in further holisitic therapies to bring whole-body healing in as many was as I can and I have added more holistic therapies to my practice.

Swedish Massage is the most common form of body massage and relaxes the entire body.  It is exceptionally beneficial in increasing the level of oxygen in the blood, decreasing muscle toxins to improve circulation and flexibility and to ease tension.  I have now also added deep tissue massage and pregnancy massage qualifications to my repertoire.  And I am absolutely loving giving Thai massage sessions which are so energising and really fun sessions too!Natural facelift massage incorporates Japanese and Indian forms of facial massage.  The use of facial reflexology and acupressure stimulates the release of toxins throughout the body, encouraging the body to heal itself and regenerate.  Indian head massage is based on the ancient Ayurvedic healing system.  The head, more than any other part of our body, represents who we are.  It is the centre of our nervous system and home to our identity and intelligence.  If our head feels good, we feel good!

And keep watching this space as I am now training as yoga teacher!  I am offering yin yoga sessions as a trainee yoga teacher - just click on YOGA on the top menu to find out when and where.

Get in touch if you would like to chat about how homeopathy can help you or your family or if you would like more information about the other therapies I offer.  I offer a free 15 minute consultation in person, by phone or by Skype so that, together, we can come up with the best approach for you.

Would highly recommend this [Wise Woman] workshop, I attended the last one, the Yin yoga was great and I learnt so much about dealing with the menopause naturally.  AS
